ADRIAN NEWS 1-3-18

2018!  Where did 2017 go?  I always think when a new January rolls around I’ve got a whole year – lots of time!  To do what?  To accomplish what?  Sometimes I think how we look at our lives and our situations really helps to determine what kind of a day or year we’re going to have.  Maybe our New Year resolutions should be simply – KEEP POSITIVE.  In some people’s lives that is a very difficult thing to do.  I believe there is something to be said for the old adage, “one day at a time.”  Let’s try each day to be positive.  Don’t worry about tomorrow.  Do something for someone, even if it’s just to say something nice.  See how it affects your day.  Shout to the Lord all the earth; break out in praise and sing for joy!  Psalm 98:4    -DK

William Wayne Ziegler, son of Carl and Natalie (Scheidt) Zeigler of Lake Charles, LA was baptized at St. Adrian Catholic Church in Adrian, MN on Dec. 23, 2017.  Father Rick Colette presided at the service. Sponsors were Saundra and Scott Snobl of Barnesville, MN and Cheryl and Mark Wiltshire of London, England. William is the brother to Charles and Victoria.  A luncheon was held at the home of Rod and Mary Scheidt – William’s grandparents, following the ceremony.

I know there were lots of Christmas celebrations around Adrian.  If you want to share your stories, please call the review at 483-2212. or Kay Cox at 483-2718, and they will be included in the next edition.

The 12/27/2017 edition of the Worthington Globe had sports headlines about the Magnolia Bulldogs.  It was only natural to grab that paper and start reading!  The article was written by Les Knutson and covered a whole page.  A picture of the 1980-81 basketball team was included.  There are many familiar faces that caught my eye – Tommy Klein, Mike Klein, O.J. Cross, Tim and Todd Christen, Bruce Reisdorfer and Tom Doherty. I was happy to see a picture of my son, Mike Cox, who was the coach at that time.  The Magnolia school district decided to join with Luverne as there were only 25 students in the 11th and 12th grades.  The boys played well together, but they had to!  The article quotes Mike quite a bit as he expected the boys to play many positions.  It was a great article by Les. This was a great bunch of boys who have gone on to become commuity leaders.

As we begin 2018, I wish everyone a Happy New Year!!
